Background
The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust is a registered organisation whose mandate is to improve the livelihoods of People with Disabilities, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Disadvantaged people in Zimbabwe.
Our Cause
The Trust is running a programme dubbed the Albinism Konnect which is aimed at helping people with albinism who are fighting skin cancer to a get timeous treatment. People with albinism especially in the rural areas are struggling to access their life saving needs such as Sunscreen Lotions, Protective Clothing, and Timeous Cancer screening as well as eyesight screening. 1 in 4 people with albinism in Zimbabwe is already developing cancer. Zimbabwe has close to 7000 people with albinism who largely live in the rural areas and are struggling to make ends meet. Access to sunscreen lotions remain a challenge due to high prices ($22.00) a tube, poverty, covid19 induced hardships, unemployment and scarcity of the sunlotions in the rural areas. Many people are suffering from skin cancer and getting treatment is a challenge as most of the required medical tests are outsorced and needs huge amounts of money which is leaving many to abandon treatment and pin hopes on traditional medicines which are killing many.
Our Intervention
Help us by donating any amount to the cause. Since January 2021 we assisted 21 patients with skin cancer to access treatment at Parirenyatwa Hospital. We lost 5 patients in our care during treatment. Through this intervention we are raising sunscreen lotions, lip balms and protective clothing to help prevent the spread of cancer within the Albino community of Zimbabwe. Your support will go a long way to touch many lives of people with albinism in Zimbabwe to access medical care during cancer treatment, sunlotions, and protective clothing. Join the cause today and make a huge difference, we are because of you.
